Having had acquired experience during our intervention on the Goethe Institute of Bordeaux, we were entrusted with the renovation, in the heart of Paris, of the German Cultural Center. Housed in an architectural ensemble built after an international competition in the 1960s, it is part of a high-quality Haussmanian environment. The program of the intervention foresees the redistribution of premises and services within the existing buildings, without the creation of additional spaces or change of use. We have opted to maintain the original architecture, complemented by contemporary elements and light fixtures. Glass, light and colour are the primary elements of our design employed to create a new atmosphere, more welcoming in relation to the existing architecture.
The project has been published in 'Bau und Raum 2007'.
