Our agency has been in charge of the design and implementation of the Residence of the German Embassy in Stockholm. The preliminary design, taking into account the program adjustments made, consolidates the architectural approach proposed in the competition phase in response to: the needs and constraints of the function, the expectations in terms of representativeness and user-friendliness for users, the safety and security regulations, the sustainable construction criteria and the strict adherence to the allocated budget. The building is located in the Embassies' district, on the same plot of land as the German Embassy. Therefore, the challenge lies in the architectural and landscape design of the Residence, in accordance with its function and users' expectations. Its high position as well as the rhythmic main façade protected by the wood siding marks its representative character. The rear facade of the Residence is open and transparent on the reception rooms and opens onto a terrace leading to the landscaped park.
