A house, located on a corner plot in a particularly degraded but still inhabited residential area, had to be demolished and replaced by a new building. For personal reasons, residents wanted to stay in place during construction. Therefore, we planned the new building around the existing building. A square wing rises above a large glass volume situated on the ground floor. The building opens on three sides onto a large garden, distancing itself from the adjacent streets. At the request of the residents, the tree population was preserved and integrated into the planning of the house and garden.
