The former stables of the Château d' Andurain de Mauléon Soule, dating from the late 18th century, were to be transformed into holiday homes. The design of the building was based on traditional and local elements such as brightly colored woodwork, brushed facades and slate roofing. The facades and a small annex have been restored in strict compliance with the traditional Basque construction rules. This contrasts with the purism of the interior design, in which both concrete, glass and wood were used as design elements.
