Located on a hillside, in the heart of Bergerac’s vineyard region, the project proposes an implementation in direct relation to the existing context. The house, built on pillars and anchored in the slope, is aligned after the main axis of the land, parallel to the neighboring forest. The basement level serves as a solid base for the living area situated above. The two levels are organized around peripheral circulation. Access to the main floor is made via a covered area on the basement level. An open kitchen, a library and a night corner are grouped around a central lounge space. This space opens onto a large south-facing terrace overlooking the vineyards. The steel construction with glass and composite panels and the rational arrangement of the indoor spaces has resulted into an economical construction.
